Guidance
A deep understanding of the region's history, nature, and culture, as well as a life experience with guides who live in the area.
We are embarking on a wonderful journey to experience the two most special flavors of the Eastern Black Sea region: tea and honey. We will experience the entire process of tea and honey production in the valleys of the Eastern Black Sea, with their unique natural beauty.
First, we’ll pick tea in the garden of Yuchi, Turkey’s tea champion who practices completely organic farming in the Hemşin valley and consults on this topic, brewing wonderful teas for ourselves with seasonal fruits and flowers. We’ll enjoy a unique experience with Yuchi’s presentation blending tea, plant life, and Hemşin culture.
We enjoy wonderful flavors with black, white, and various flower teas.
We embark on a journey to Artvin Kamilet Valley or the Fırtına and Çat valleys in Rize for organic honey. It’s an informative and enjoyable journey filled with knowledge about nature, honey, bees, and even bears. During this journey, we experience the world of bees, their connection to bears, the harvesting and filtering of honey, and the delicious part for us participants: tasting it. We embark on our honey journey with the locals who have been engaged in beekeeping for years.
In these experiences, we will be with the people of the region who live in the valley, are knowledgeable about their culture, and are experts in their field. A wonderful program awaits you, almost like a school, where you will experience every process firsthand.
In addition to the honey tour, we will explore the most beautiful highlands, villages, and valleys of Rize and Artvin.
We will get to know Hemşin and Laz cultures. We will walk in the forests, cool off in the streams, and relax in the magnificent scenery of the highlands…
To see the most special places in Rize and Artvin and experience these beautiful cultures, we recommend a 5-night, 6-day program. However, you can decide on the number of days. If you want to travel for a longer or shorter period,
You can contact us for our tours tailored to individuals, families, or groups of friends.
After welcoming you at Rize Airport, we make a wonderful entrance to the Eastern Black Sea region through Hemşin Valley.
After picking white tea and harvesting green tea in the organic tea garden in Hemşin Valley, we will learn how to brew tea and other processes. We will also brew delicious teas from white and black teas and various flowers. After spending a wonderful day in Hemşin Valley, we will head to Fırtına Valley for our overnight stay.
ACCOMMODATION: ÇAMLIHEMŞİN
On our second day, we will set off for the GİTO-BADARA or POKUT-SAL highlands. Along the way, we will stop for photos and breaks in the valleys, streams, forest villages, and chalets. Weather permitting, we aim to watch a spectacular sunset in the highlands and then head to our guesthouse in the highlands for the night.
ACCOMMODATION: YAYLA GUESTHOUSE
After waking up to a beautiful mountain morning, we start the day with a delicious breakfast. On our second day, we embark on a journey to discover another important local delicacy: honey. We will complete our informative journey, learning about honey, bees, flowers, and even bears from the local beekeepers, with honey harvesting and tasting. After spending the end of the day in a beautiful forest, by a stream, or anywhere else we think will be good for us, we head back to our hotel to stay the night.
Accommodation: ÇAMLIHEMŞİN
On our fourth day, we set off for Artvin. Kamilet Valley, another natural wonder with its endemic flora. Our first stop in the valley is the Historic Double Arch Bridge, one of the finest examples of stonework, located at the intersection of the Kamilet and Soğucak streams. After a photo break at the historic bridge, we drive a little further into the valley to the place where we will start our hike. After a hike of light to moderate difficulty, we arrive at Mençuna Waterfall, which feeds the wildlife of Kamilet Valley. After cooling off at the waterfall, we enjoy the view with delicious mountain tea.
After visiting Mençuna Waterfall, we descend from the waterfall for lunch to taste the valley’s most delicious local dishes.
Our next stop is the peaceful town of Şavşat… Our journey, accompanied by stunning natural landscapes, ends at the Yavuzköy viewing terrace, where we can admire the magnificent scenery of Şavşat. After the viewing terrace, we can take a short walk and then head to the hotel where we will be staying for the night.
ACCOMMODATION: ŞAVŞAT
After breakfast, we head to our first stop in the peaceful town of Şavşat: Şavşat Karagöl. After a lovely walk around Karagöl, we visit the historic Tibet Church. Once our guide has told us about the church’s history, we set off on a wonderful nature trip to Macahel, our country’s first and only biosphere reserve, an untouched landscape.
Our route along the Green Trail takes us through villages, streams, forests, and highlands, one after another. We walk as far as we want and cool off in the streams as much as we like. We head to the Papart and Çurupira highlands, one after the other. At the peaks of the Çurupira highland, located on our natural border with Georgia, we enjoy regional dishes from the Georgian cuisine, prepared especially for us, while taking in the view.
After lunch, our green journey continues as we head to Maral Waterfall in Macahel Valley. We take a short nature walk to the waterfall and, weather permitting, cool off in the water before heading to our guesthouse for the night.
ACCOMMODATION: MACAHEL
On our last day in the Black Sea region, after waking up in the Macahel Valley, we will visit the oldest mosque in the area. İremit Mosque is a small but unique mosque featuring woodwork and natural dyes.
Our next stop is Camili village on the Georgian border and the Georgian border gate located in the village.
After setting off towards Borçka, we stop at the Macahel Pass for a view and an oxygen break. While enjoying the scenery, we hope to take some amazing photos, as long as the fog and clouds allow.
Our next stop is Borçka Karagöl, where we take a lovely walk around the lake, snapping plenty of photos of the stunning scenery…
We leave Karagöl and head to the coastal road, heading to our final stop, the Tea Factory. In workshops where we can see the stages tea goes through, we learn firsthand about the processes it undergoes before reaching our tables and the brewing methods used for Black Sea tea.
After our visit to the tea factory, we are unfortunately heading to Rize-Artvin Airport to see you off…

Hiking boots, a small backpack, a raincoat or poncho for protection from the rain, shorts or swimwear for those who want to go into streams and lakes, a towel, sunscreen, synthetic fabric pants, a sweatshirt to protect you from the cold, a jacket or fleece (the weather can suddenly turn cold at high altitudes).
