Georgia Mestia tour
The Peaks of Tour
Tour Dates
After meeting at Rize-Artvin Airport, we will cross the Sarp border gate, leaving Batumi behind us. We will pass through Georgia’s vast agricultural lands, taking a short break in the city of Zugdidi. We will spice up our approximately 6-hour journey with tea and coffee breaks. We will end our journey in the town of Mestia (1500 m), the center of the Upper Svaneti Region, and settle into our hotel. Before dinner, you will have free time to explore the museums and churches of Mestia and stroll through the streets of the town.
After a lovely breakfast, we set off in our vehicle towards Ushguli, the highest village in Europe throughout the year. We will pass through many villages that make up the Upper Svaneti Region along the way to reach Ushguli. We drive through the village to the starting point of our hike. At the end of this enjoyable hike, we will reach the glacier of Georgia’s highest point, Mount Shkhara (5067 m). After a nice rest at the edge of the glacier, we will walk back to our vehicles. We will then drive to the village of Ushguli. After an enjoyable tour of the village of Ushguli, we will board our vehicle and head back to our hotel.
After breakfast, we will drive to Becho Village. Our waterfall hike starting from here will be accompanied by the majestic view of Mount Mazeri and the cool waters of the Dolra River. Our trail starts off on a slightly flat forest path but becomes steeper after 10 minutes. We climb about 200 meters, then the trail levels out again and continues along a very beautiful forest path. We pass by the Georgian border guards’ cabin in the forest. During our hike, we will take frequent breaks to catch our breath in this beautiful forest. After a 200-300-meter climb, we will reach a point where we can enjoy a panoramic view of the waterfall source and the Mazeri Plateau. After enjoying this unique view, we head to our hotel to unwind from the day’s activities.
After breakfast, we will depart from Mestia Village, located at an altitude of 1,800 meters, and drive to the area where the Great Hajj is located. After ascending through alpine meadows in 4×4 vehicles, we will reach the Koruldi Lakes at an altitude of 2,300 meters. Here, we will enjoy the summit views awaiting us and savor the moment before returning by vehicle. For our next stop, we will travel from Mestia to Hatsvali, where the cable car station is located. When we arrive at this place, which has a ski resort used for winter tourism, we will take the cable car here to a cafe located in a position where we can see the entire roof of the Caucasus and immerse ourselves in the Caucasus mountains with peaks ranging from 3750 to 5201m. After taking in the views here, we will return by cable car and head back to our hotel.
After an early breakfast, we pack our bags and board our waiting minibus, leaving the Svaneti region behind and heading towards Batumi. After lunch on the way, we will take a short tour of the city center, depending on our arrival time in Batumi. We will continue our journey to the airport according to our flight time.

Before the Tour
To ensure this unique experience in nature is perfect, bring along:
Trekking-style shoes, a small backpack, a raincoat or poncho for protection from the rain, shorts or swimwear for those who want to go into streams and lakes, a towel, sunscreen, synthetic fabric pants, a sweatshirt to protect you from the cold, a jacket or fleece (the weather can suddenly turn cold at high altitudes). Also, please do not forget to bring any daily medications you may need.
Please do not bring too many items or large suitcases, as the vehicles we use for tours are minibuses with a maximum capacity of 19 people to reach all locations. Excessive luggage creates problems for the luggage capacity.
